Well…. I saw the shop one time when I was shopping with my cousin and they wanted to print their business card since it’s cheap here in Thailand. So a week after, I went back to the same mall to look for the shop and boy was I lost! Not only I was lost driving by myself to town, I couldn’t find the shop provided that I knew which floor it was located at. When I finally found the shop, I found myself stranded trying to explain to a Thai lady who speaks very little English and who was not very helpful to begin with. Apparently, I was the picky customer because they have no idea of printing crop marks and trim marks and doing die-cuts and so… I had to settle for what they can offer me under MUTUAL understanding.

The bllew photography card was printed on semi-transparent PVC card. As for my business card, I initially wanted a full color spot UV coat on white paper but they told me that was impossible to do in 1 hour but if i changed everything to black…that’s a different case, so i thought to myself, what the heck…its only 300bath for 100 cards, no harm giving it a try!

The shopping bag plays along with the logo. A fun way to introduce and advertise the new logo. =) Printed inside of the shopping bag is a calendar that can be reuse, torn or cut out and hung on walls. Think green!

Recently helped a friend “put together” a website. Her previous website disappeared because of the host and due to the whole moving and migration thing I didnt have the time to design a website from scratch. Therefore, I cannot take credit for designing the website because I purchased a template from Bludomain.com who make website templates mainly for photographers. The website was simple and elegant, great, but the service…not so!! Took me forever to contact them because they can only be reached through a ticket communicating system which is l-a-m-e! With the time taken, I could have already made a website myself.

Anyhows…the website is finally up! thaicottage-sf.com,  a simple 4-page website, with an external link to google map. The website starts off with a slideshow with yummylicious pictures of food. The pictures were taken by no other than Bllew Photography! I was there to help and kinda sorta style the food. The final result….growling stomach! =)

A logo and business card design for a new catering/restaurant business. The concept behind the logo is to marry modern jazz with  food, representing the owner, Jasmine, as a chef and musician. Feel free to visit her website @www.cookingwithjas.com!

It’s such bummer that i’m not in the States, else, i would have handled the printing myself so that i can see the actual final result…but oh wells…just use your imaginations. Ideally, the business card will be printed on white matte paper, treated with spot UV coat on the logo and curly brackets. But my job was to design the graphic, i proposed my idea and we’ll see what happen next! I’ll try to ask for a printed version of the card and post it on the blog!

Sawadee…Greetings from Thailand… to start off….a picture i took from a SLR camera not of my own… ;p photoshopped  of course…i’ve been wondering if anybody’s reading my blog…not that i have anything interesting to blog about…YET!! but i’ve been getting quite a numbers of comments which i start to believe that they are spams.

Anyhoots….i’m going to start blogging more often…as i’ve moved to a new country, starting from zero all over again!! yes…i’ve graduated from San Francisco, only to find myself jobless in the current market that had unfortunately made things that much more difficult for me.

However…that does not end my designer life, (which I haven’t really even started yet) in continuing blogging, i hope it’ll be as a reminder of my designer self, as i continue to search for a designer job in this foreign city which its primary language is soooo alien to me, Bangkok… a city that you’ve got to see it to believe it…. behind all that hustle and bustle, hides many ideas and talents that is so original, and for some reason always with some good sense of humor.

Many young talents like nokhookdesign, a design team based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, can be found in the cutest little  shops on the streets or even the night bazaar (my favorite place to shop). Bangkok is always fun and full of surprises. As i explore the city, i’ll continue to blog and share my findings. And did i mention, i just got into photography? =)
